Kamal is a seasoned, award-winning educator with more than two decades of transformative experience across diverse educational settings. Her career spans New York City, New Delhi, Warsaw, and Singapore, reflecting her commitment to holistic, inclusive, and forward-thinking education. Kamal’s journey in early childhood education grew from a passion for child development that began while she was teaching high school students. She later served as Director of Early Childhood Education at Modern School, one of New Delhi’s oldest and most respected progressive private institutions. In this role, she championed practices supporting young learners’ social, emotional, and cognitive development. Now based in New York, Kamal contributes to educational equity and community development initiatives, delivering lessons on nutrition and entrepreneurship. Her exposure to Montessori philosophy has further shaped her approach, leading her to work closely in early childhood classrooms at Battery Park Montessori. Professionally trained as a nutritionist, Kamal holds a master’s degree in Food and Nutrition from the University of Delhi. Her credentials also include a Diploma in Innovation in Teaching from OEP Finland and certification as a Microsoft Educator in 21st-century teaching skills. She has served on the Mentor Advisory Council for BUILD NYC, supporting youth entrepreneurship, and represents India as an ambassador for True Curriculum, an EdTech platform focused on curriculum accessibility and cultural relevance. Born into a family of veterans, Kamal grew up immersed in the diversity and complexity of Indian culture. She is also a proud parent of UWCSEA Singapore alumni, an experience that continues to shape her global outlook and belief in intercultural understanding as a cornerstone of education. Kamal believes deeply in every child’s potential and strives to create meaningful learning experiences that help students explore their identity, purpose, and place in the world. Outside the classroom, she finds inspiration in nature, yoga, and her growing community of students and educators.
